DAVID R. HOLMES DIES FRIDAY; RITES TUESDAY
David R. Holmes, 20, of 515 W. 2nd St. N., a lifelong resident of Newton, died Friday at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Edward Susic will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Kimberley; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Holmes of Newton; four brothers, Daniel Lee of Cedar Falls, Randal F. of Fort Carson, Colo., and Robert G. and Richard D. of Newton; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jarrell of Monroe, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Darrah of Newton; and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Clara Farmer of Albany, Ore.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Holmes was employed by Peters Construction Co.
The son of Wendell R. and Jean E. Darrah Holmes, he was born Feb. 4, 1954 in Newton and was a 1972 graduate of Newton Community High School.
He was married to Kimberley Snook May 28, 1974 in Newton.
