Arthur Griffin Ethridge III, 44 of Newton died Monday Sept. 15, 2008, at Careage of Newton from complications of Huntington’s disease. Art has donated his body to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
There will be a memorial gathering on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.

The son of Arthur G. Ethridge Jr. and Donna (Miller) Ethridge, Art was born on Feb. 4, 1964, in Des Moines. Art enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors.
Those left to honor his memory are his three sons, Ace Ethridge of Ankeny, Travis Ethridge of Cedar Rapids and Luke Ethridge of Baxter; his father; four sisters, Cathy Chiodo of Colorado, Sheri (Bert) Sankey of Thompson, Angela Ethridge of Newton and Michelle Ethridge of Clear Lake; a dear friend, Marla Shepley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hazel and Arno Edler and Berniece Miller; his mother; a sister, Laurie Anderson; and three nieces.
