Gladys Marie Cline, 79, of Newton, formerly of Monroe, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Skiff Medical Center of Newton.
Funeral services for Gladys will be on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 1p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home, 602 N. Commerce, Monroe, with burial following at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 15, at Coburn Funeral Home of Monroe from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Monroe Emergency Unit and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Ed and Albina (Kolar) Fritz, Gladys Marie was born on Oct. 25, 1928, in Washington, Kan. Gladys was united in marriage with Harley Cline on Aug. 20, 1948, in Washington, Kan. Gladys and Harley would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this August. Gladys was described as “the kind of wife every guy dreams of.” Gladys spent the beginning of her career as a dedicated homemaker and later spent 20 years as a Maytag employee. She loved crocheting and quilting. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband of nearly 60 years, Harley Cline of Newton; daughter, Lila (Bruce) Nolte of Fairbury, Neb.; son, David (Joane) Cline of Sully; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kenneth Fritz, Elmer Fritz and Clifford Fritz.
