Diane Pecinovsky, 57, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at her home in Newton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery, both in Protivin. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Conway Funeral Home in Protivin on Friday and again from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday.
Diane Mary Pecinovsky was born on April 7, 1951, in New Hampton and grew up on a farm near Protivin. She was the daughter of Daniel and Darlene (Leuenberger) Mracek. She attended Rudolphinum High School in Protivin. When the school closed, Diane spent her senior year at Crestwood High School, graduating in 1969. She attended NIACC in Mason City graduating in 1971.
On Aug. 7, 1971, at Holy Trinity Church in Protivin Diane married Gerald G. Pecinovsky. After their marriage, Diane worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Des Moines. When her first child was born, Diane became a stay at home Mom raising three children. For the last 10 years, she worked side by side with her husband running their business. Diane was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Newton. Diane mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald G.; her children, Jill Pecinovsky, Julie Pecinovsky and Eric Pecinovsky, all of West Des Moines; three sisters, Connie Mracek of Neenah, Wis., Kathy (Steve) McCarville of Cresco and Jane (Pete) Heying of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Dennis (Donna) Mracek of Protivin and Tom Mracek of Kasson, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Czech Heritage Partnership or Holy Trinity Parish and sent to Conway Funeral Home, 404 North Elm Street, Cresco, Iowa 52136.
