HOLD RITES FOR KELLOGG YOUTH

Funeral Services for Ernest Whisenand, 18, Held Tuesday Morning

Kellogg, March 14-Special to The Daily News-Funeral services for Ernest Whisenand, 18, who dies Saturday from self-inflicted bullet wounds, were conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Christian church by the Rev. F. H. Perkins, pastor of the Methodist church.

Music for the rites was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Earl Trout, Mrs. P.E. Coon, T. L. Birchard, and R. C. Birchard, with Inez Powers as accompanist. They sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Sometime We'll Understand," and "God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again."

Interment was in the Kellogg cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Max Liesman, Wayne Zigeler, Robert and Gerald Paulson, Warren Bates and Leonard Shill.

Students of the Kellogg High school and members of the youth's Sunday school class of the Pleasant View church attended the services in a body.

Ernest Whisenand was born near New Sharon July 25, 1914, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Whisenand. Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Homer McCollom of Newton, and three brothers, Lynn and Thane, at home, and John of Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, March 1934
