James D. Ward

James D. Ward, 48, of 325 E. 2nnd St. S., a resident of Newton since moving from Omaha, Neb., in 1983, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, at the Skiff Medical Center of cancer.

Cremation was held following death.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Stanley Peterson, interim pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.

Reese Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors are his wife, Linda; a son, James of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Diane Ward of Omaha, Neb.; a grandson; two brothers, Martin of Omaha, Neb., and Kelly of Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Melody Ulanowski of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his father and an infant daughter.

Mr. Ward, a member of the BASS Sports Society, was employed in maintenance and shipping and receiving at HoneyCorr in Newton.

He was born May 22, 1944 in Raymond, Wash.
