Obituary of Mrs. Daniels

Margaret Ann Hemphill was born in Louisiana, Pike County, Missouri September 25, 1839, and died December 19, in her seventy-sixth year.

She was married to Robert Woodson Daniels January 18, 1866. In the year of 1870 they moved on a farm northeast of Prairie City where they lived until the year of 1902, moving then to the place where the home is now.

Five children were born to this family, three dying in infancy. Mrs. Ella Roberts who lives near Prairie City and Mrs. Lillie Walker who lives in Newton are the remaining children. They have been with their mother and did all that loving hands could do for her in her last sickness.

In her father's family [David Huston Hemphill & Elizabeth Carson Turner] there were nine children. One sister is living at Anita, Iowa, and two brothers at War Eagle, Arkansas are left to mourn the loss of a dear sister. She was converted in 1890 and has been a faithful and true Christian ever since. During the past six years she has been an invalid and cared for by her husband, who watched with tender faithfulness her every movement and granted every wish.

She was a member of long standing of the W.R.C.

The family wish to thank the kind friends who have helped them in their sorrow and also for the flowers.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Christian Church conducted by Rev. Munyon. Interment was made at Westview Cemetary.

[This was transcribed c. 1968 from clippings owned by various family members, and is believed to be from the Prairie City News of Thursday, December 23, 1915, Vol. 41, No. 52. Mrs. Daniels died on 19 Dec 1915. Possibly from same newspaper:]
