Danny Gene Broyles, 44, and Cynthia D. "Cindy" Snyder Broyles, 37, of 19C Sunrise Terrace, died in an automobile accident Thursday, July 8, near Kinston, N.C.

Joint funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Burial will e in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in rural Grinnell. The Revs. Harold Taylor of the Primitive Baptist Church in Milan, Mo., and Bob Hill of the First Southern Baptist Church in Newton will conduct the services.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Sunday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials in his and her names will be accepted.

She is survived by a son, Jason of Newton; two step-daughters, Christine Renae Lapour of Jacksonville, N.C., and Dena Rae Broyles of Marshalltown; and two step-granddaughters.

Also surviving are her mother, Shirley Snyder of Des Moines; a sister, Deborah French of Winiser, Calif.; and her maternal Grandmother, Evelyn Brott of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister.

Mrs. Broyles was employed in quality control in The Steel Works in Des Moines.

The daughter of Clair and Shirley Short Snyder Jr., she was born Aug. 13, 1955 in Des Moines and was graduated from a Des Moines high school.

She was married to Danny Gene Broyles in July, 1981 in Knoxville.

Mrs. Broyles resided in Des Moines until 1981 when she moved to Newton.

Mr. Broyles is survived by a son; Jason of Newton, two daughters, Christine Renae Lapour of Jacksonville, N.C., and Dena Rae Broyles of Marshalltown; and two granddaughters.

Also surviving are his parents, Veldon and Ruth Broyles of Newton; a brother, Jerry, of Newton; and twin sisters, Karen Broyles of Newton and Sharon Postel of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Veldon Dean, in infancy and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Mr. Broyles, who had been employed since August, 1968, in the Maytag Co., dryer assembly department, was coach of the Body Beautiful tem in the Maytag Softball League.

The son of Veldon Gene and Anna Ruth Bonnett Broyes, he was born March, 4, 1949 in Iowa City and was a 1967 graduate of Newton Community High School.

He was married to Cindy Snyder in July, 1981 in Knoxville. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1993
