MONROE — Georgia M. Ross, 89 of Monroe, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from noon to 2 p.m.

The daughter of Charles and Gladys (Hummel) Lewis, Georgia was born on January 1, 1918, in Monroe, Iowa. She was a graduate of Monroe High School and was united in marriage to S. Ivan Ross on January 21, 1939. Georgia volunteered many hours with the American Red Cross.
