Hamilton, Cynthia Faye (Teater) 1914-2007

Cynthia Faye Hamilton was born in Monroe County on Feb. 5, 1914. She was one of three children born to Clara Alice Dykes and Clarence Erwin Teater. On Oct. 18, 1935, Faye was united in marriage to Carl Edward Hamilton. To this union three children were born.

Carl and Faye farmed for several years in the Plano, Iowa, area. After his death, Faye lived in Newton, Shenandoah, Knoxville and Kirksville, Mo. Faye was a member of the Plano First Christian Church. She was also very active in RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in Newton.

In her spare time Faye enjoyed gardening, especially flowers of all kinds. She also did crocheting. Faye’s family was her major priority especially having the grandchildren visit the farm during the summers.

Faye passed away on Aug. 1, 2007, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 26 days.

Preceding Faye in death were her parents; her husband in 1970; one son, Teddy; one daughter-in-law, Florene Hamilton; one grandson, Byron Hamilton; and two brothers, Ted and Howard Teater.

Those left to mourn her passing are one daughter and her husband, Karla (Dick) Kaesner of Knoxville; one son, Gail Hamilton of Kirksville, Mo.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Hamilton may be made to the Jasper County Hospice.
