OAKLAND ACRES - Funeral services for the Rev. Beryl "Gus" Knudsen, 70, of 25 Eagle Drive, Oakland Acres, were held today, July 18, at the First Lutheran Church in Newton.

Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Des Moines.

Memorials to Grand View College in Des Moines or the First Lutheran church in Newton will be accepted.

He died Thursday at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center following a heart attack.

Survivors are his wife, Eunice; two daughters, Sandra Knudsen and Luanne Knudsen, both of Prairie City; a son, Dean of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and three brothers, Carl of Cozad, Neb., the Rev. Arnold of Longview, Wash., and Stanley of Lexington, Neb.

He was past president of the Des Moines Area Religious Council, and a member of the board of trustees of Grand View College and a member of First Lutheran Church in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily news, July 1994
