Charlotte M. Spencer

Charlotte M. Spencer, 92, of Embassy Manor, formerly of 1403 N. 4th Ave. W., a lifelong resident of Newton, died Friday evening, Feb. 16, at Skiff Medical Center of complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

Graveside rites for Miss Spencer, who was a longtime owner of an antique business in her home, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Newton Union Cemetery.

The Rev. William Calhoun, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services.

Friends may call at Wallace-Pence funeral Home after 3 p.m. today.

Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church will be accepted.

Survivors are several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Charles in 1976.

Miss Spencer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

The daughter of Burt and Lillie Guthrie Spencer, she was born March 21, 1897 in Newton and was graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, February 1990
