PELLA - Funeral services for Marion L. Schippers, 86, of Pella, a retired employee of the Parsons Co., in Newton, were held Monday, Dec. 24, at the First Reformed Church in Pella.

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Pella.

Memorials to the Pella First Reformed Church will be accepted.

He died Friday at Prairie Village in Pella.

Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella handled arrangements.

Survivors are his wife, Betty; a daughter, Thelma; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Melvin, four sisters and a brother.

Mr. Schippers was a member of the Pella First Reformed Church.

He was born April 26, 1904 and was educated in the New Sharon and Pella areas.

He was married to Betty Dykstra Aug. 30, 1928. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1990
