Jerry R. White, 46, of 405 E. 12 St. Pl. N., a resident of Newton since 1968, died Tuedsay morning, July 13, at the Skiff Medical Center of a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Community Heights Alliance Church.

The Rev. Bill Adams, associate pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after noon Thursday and visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Izaak Walton League or the Kellogg Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Connie; a son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Regina of Kellogg; a daughter, Kimberly (Mrs. Daniel E.) Bunn of Newton; and a granddaughter.

Also surviving are a brother, Lonnie White of Newton; two sisters, Nancy (Mrs. Jim) Douglas of Newton and Donna (Mrs. Dean) Long of Mount Pleasant; his father, Richard White of Moulton; his mother, Darlene Munn of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Mr. White, who served in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968, was a member of the United Auto Workers, Local 997, retirees Union and Emerson Hough chapter of the Izaak Walton League.

Mr. White, an employee of the Maytag Co., for 27 years, worked in the sheet metal, dryer assembly and auto assembly departments from 1965 until retiring in 1992 and presently was employed by the City of Newton in the Parks Department.

The son of Richard and Darlene Dodson White, he was born Aug. 31, 1946 in Lancaster, Mo., and was a 1965 graduate of Moulton Community High School.

He was married to Connie Piatt Nov. 13, 1965 in Moulton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1993
