KENTMERE, England - Paul A. Reynolds, 86, of Kentmere, England, a former resident of Jasper County, died Monday, Sept. 10, at his home in Kentmere.

Funeral services will be held Friday in England. Cremation will follow.

Memorial services wil be held at the Newton Union Cemtery at a later date.

Survivors are his wife, Anne Lois; a son, Philip of Buffalo, N.Y.; a daughter, Lee (Mrs. Ian) Hall of Preston, England; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and severl nieces and nephews, including Morris Reynolds of Newton and Marilyn (Mrs. John) Berthesen of Kellogg.

Mr. Reynolds, a graduate of Newton Community High School, received his doctor of philosophy degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

He retired from Wesleyan University in Middleton, Conn., in 1971 where he was head of the philosophy department.

He was born Dec. 15, 1903 on a farm four miles east of Newton and was married in 1930 to Anne Lois Auten of Kellogg. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, September 1990
