AUBURN, Calif. — Dale E. Ward, 87, formerly of Newton, died Friday, June 22, 2007, in Auburn, Calif. No services are being planned.

Dale was the son of Andrew Morris and Bessie Elizabeth (Balmer) Ward. He was born Oct. 22, 1919, and graduated from Newton High School in 1937.

He is survived by one son, Dew (Jeannie) Ward of Auburn, Calif.; two grandsons, Daniel and Kyle Ward of California; four brothers, Dean (Betty) Ward, Bill (Barbara) Ward, Harold (Glennys) Ward of Newton, and Jerry (Micky) Ward of Cleveland, Tenn.; and one sister, Kay Ward of Sarasota, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie; one brother, Richard; and two sisters, Dorothy Harvey and Lucille Herbold.
