Robert W. Neasham

Robert W. Neasham, 88, of 306 E. 19th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1979, died Monday afternoon, April 23, at Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Reese Chapel.

The Rev. William Vanden Bos, pastor of the Newton Christian Reformed Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Diabetes Association may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; two sons, William C. and James R., both of Rt. 3, Newton; a daughter, Ruth (Mrs. James) Rusk of Rt. 3, Newton; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother, a half-brother and a sister.

Mr. Neasham, a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau, had worked for the Maytag Co., for 17 years until 1946 when he began farming in Palo Alto Township. He retired in 1973.

The son of William and Esther Snook Neasham, he was born Sept. 17, 1902 in Palo Alto Township and attended Jasper County schools.

He was married to Dorothy Kinart April 12, 1930 in Monroe. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, April 1990
