PRAIRIE CITY - Funeral services for Joseph Naisbitt, 93, of Prairie City, a longtime resident of the Prairie City and Colfax communities, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. John Mc Kinstry, pastor of the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, will conduct services. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Memorials to the Colfax Senior Citizens may be left at the funeral home.

He died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors are a sister-in-law, Esther Naisbitt of Colfax and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Mr. Naisbitt was a member of the Colfax Senior Citizens.

The son of Joseph and Maria Clark Naisbitt, he was born Feb. 4, 1897 in Colfax.

He was married to Leora Clark June 29, 1929 in Des Moines.

An Army veteran of World War I, he was a coal miner in the Colfax area for 30 years and was employed at the Star Oil Co., in Prairie City for 24 years. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1991
