Margaret M. Provin

Margaret M. Provin, 83, of 210 E. 17th St. N., died Tuesday evening, July 5, at the Colonial Manor in Baxter of a respiratory condition.

Graveside rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at South Friends Cemetery in New Sharon.

The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the Congregational United Church of Christ, will conduct services. Burial will be in South Friends Cemetery in New Sharon.

Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials to the colonial Manor Nursing Home in Baxter will be accepted.

Survivors are a sister, Mildred Fisher of Grinnell; and a brother, Wilber Fisher of Vancouver, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fermon in 1993, and a sister, Ella Fisher Hill.

Mrs. Provin, who was baptized in the Presbyterian Church, had been a clerk at Nolin's Drug, Kresges and Penney's, retiring at the age of 60.

The daughter of Jacob and Clara Rupp Fisher, she was born April 18, 1911 in New Sharon and was graduated from New Sharon High School.

She was married to Fermon Provin December 22, 1930 in New Sharon.

Mrs. Provin, who resided in New Sharon for 39 years, moved to Grinnell where she resided for seven years prior to moving to Newton in 1957. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1994
