SUN CITY, Ariz. - Funeral services for Cecil Viola Geisler Penquite, 81, of Sun City, Ariz., a former resident of Mingo, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. Robert Gamble, pastor of the Mingo United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery, northwest of Mingo.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Mingo United Methodist Church will be accepted.

She died Friday morning at the Royal Oak Care Center in Sun City from complications of Parkinson's Disease.

Survivors are her husband, Loren; and a brother, Harold of Sun City, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Penquite was a member of the United Methodist Church and an affiliate member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City.

Mrs. Penquite, a former school teacher, was active in community affairs, Martha Circle, Mingo United Methodist Church and Mingo Senior Women's Club.

The daughter of John and Gertrude Setzer Geisler, she was born Nov. 6, 1911 in Mingo, was graduated from Mingo Community High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames and Drake University in Des Moines.

She was married to Loren Penquite May 6, 1933 in Menlo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 1992
