Charles E. Jacobs Dies on Sunday; Rites Wednesday

KELLOGG - Charles Edward Jacobs, 91 of Embassy Manor, a former longtime resident of Kellogg, died Sunday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kellogg United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Chapel after noon today.

Memorial contributions to the Kellogg United Methodist Church in Mr. Jacobs' name will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Emma; three sons, Leonard of Grand River, Burt of Nevada and Delbert of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Frances) Leonardo of Chicago Ridge, Ill.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Jacobs of Embassy Manor, and a sister, Mrs. Lethel Straka of Minnetonka, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Jacobs, a member of the Kellogg United Methodist Church, had farmed and was a retired employee of Midwest Industries in Kellogg.

The son of John and Eva Jacobs, he was born September 4, 1886 in Monmouth, Ill.

He was married to Emma B. Lenz Sept. 17, 1913 at her parents home near Kellog.
