Mary Gralnek, 83, of Newton died Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Dunn's Funeral Home, 2121 Grand Ave., in Des Moines.

Rabbi Jonathan Maltzman of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines will conduct services.

Memorial contributions to the Iowa Jewish Old Age Home in Des Moines will be accepted.

Survivors are a sister, Ida Dunitz of Newton, with whom she made her home the last 20 years, and two brothers, Harry of Phoenix, Ariz., and Max of Newton.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna.

Miss Gralnek, a member of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines, had been a stenographer at the former One Minute Washer Co., in Newton and later was a sales person for the May Co., in Los Angeles, Calif.

The daughter of Morris and Freda Berman Gralnek, she ws born March 17, 1900, came to the United States from Russia in 1909 and was graduated in 1918 from Newton Community High School. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1984
