Royal E. Teed

COLFAX - Royal Edward Teed, 73, a lifelong resident of Jasper County and longtime resident of Colfax, died Wednesday, July 17, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. John Mc Kinstry pastor of the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, will conduct services.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Colfax American Legion at the Ashton Chapel Cemetery North of Mingo.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home and family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Marjorie; a sister, Belva Ingersoll of Madrid; and a brother, Orval Teed of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and seven sisters.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Teed was a member of the Colfax American Legion.

He was a truck driver for many years.

The son of Squire and Eldie Neal Teed, he was born November 28, 1917 in Clear Creek Township in Jasper County near Collins.

He was married to Marjorie Krockow Whittaker November 8, 1975 at Colfax. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1991
