Mrs. A. Eatwell Dies At Age 88; Rites at Mingo

Mrs. Arpie Eatwell, 88, who lived most of her life in the Farrar community, north of Mingo, died March 19th in Nevada, Ia., at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles Sepzer.

Mrs. Eatwell was born near Farrar to David and Mary Longnecker. She was married to Cyrus J. Eatwell and the couple farmed north of Mingo about four and one-half miles. Since Mr. Eatwell's death 21 years ago, Mrs. Eatwell has lived part of the time in her children's homes.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Mingo Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Scholes, Ames and Rev. Jonathan Drake, Mingo, in charge. Burial was in Graham Cemetery.

The body was taken to the Fred Geisler home in Mingo Sunday evening from the Cooper-Moore Funeral Home at Maxwell.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Sepzer of Nevada, Mrs. Fred Geisler, of Mingo, Mrs. Ray Hall of Bondurant; five sons, Frank of Hampton, John and Alfred of Mingo, Thomas of Ames, and Carl of Marshalltown. A son, Clarence preceeded her in death.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Hart of Lawler and Mrs. Lloyd C. Powleske of Farrar; two half-sisters, Myrtle Longnecker of Tacoma, Washington and Mrs. Alta Longcor of Farrar; and five half-brothers, Hugh and Clifford Longnecker of Newton, George of Redman, Ore., Walter of Trenton, Mo., and Oscar of Washington state.
