Florence S. Northcott

Florence Sullivan Northcott, 81, of 817 E. 6th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1928, died Saturday morning, March 31, at her home of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. William Calhoun, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County will be appreciated.

Survivors are her husband, Carl L.; a daughter, Nancy L. Northcott of Newton; and two sisters, Helen (Mrs. Clarence) Couch and Gladys (Mrs. Frank) Davis, both of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, Carolyn Kay in 1936, Mary Jeanne in 1961 and Phyllis Ann in 1978 and two brothers, Clifford L. and John W. Sullivan.

Mrs. Northcott, a homemaker, had worked at Newton Manufacturing Co. for several years.

The daughter of Asa and Mary Remmark Sullivan, she was born March 28, 1909 in White City and attended schools in Lovilia and Colfax.

She was married to Carl L. Northcott August 26, 1933 in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, March 1990
