SLATINGTON, Pa. - Frank "Francis" Underwood, 45, of Slatington, Pa., a former resident of Newton, died Thursday, July 7, at a hospital in Allentown, Pa., of complications of diabetes.

Survivors are his mother, Elizabeth Underwood of Abington, Pa., five brothers and sisters, all in the Philadelphia, Pa., suburban area, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Underwood, who moved from Newton June 10, 1993, was a resident of Newton for 10 1/2 years, operating an income tax service and South Fifth Avenue Gifts. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 7, 1994
