Ruth H. Miller and Marilyn J. Miller

Colfax -- Joint funeral services for Ruth H. Miller, 74, and daughter, Marilyn Jean Miller, 48, both of Colfax, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, at the United Methodist Church in Colfax.

The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax after noon Thursday and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials in their names will be accepted.

Mrs. Miller died Monday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines and Miss Miller Tuesday at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Mrs. Miller, a homemaker, is survived by three daughters, Jane Ann (Mrs. Russell) Deardon of Des Moines and Sandra (Mrs. Bill) Allfree and Rhonda (Mrs. Gilbert) Sickora, both of Colfax; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Dale Meyers of Moore, Okla., and Arlie Meyers Jr. of Davis City; and two sisters, Neva Hanawalt of Monroe and Dorothy Shuey of Decatur.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley, a daughter, two brothers and a granddaughter.

The daughter of Arlie and Bertha Myers Meyers, she was born April 13, 1918 in Colo.

She was married to Stanley Miller August 23, 1937 in Newton.

Miss Miller was preceeded in death by three sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.

The daughter of Stanley and Ruth Meyers Miller, she was born Sept. 5, 1944 in Colfax.
