Colleen P. Southern

Colleen P. Stull Southern, 62, of Rt. 4, Box 306, Newton, a resident of Newton since 1950, died Friday afternoon June 22 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of complications of diabetes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church.

The Rev. Raymond Barnett, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wallace Pence Funeral Home.

Memorials to the First Christian Church will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Russell L. Southern; a son Dennis L. of Ames; a daughter, Donna L. Cook of Newton; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Nadine Priaulx of Newton and Dorothy Oden of Exline; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Stull of Centerville.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Stull.

Mrs. Southern, a homemaker, had been an Avon representative.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and Food Pantry.

The daughter of Clifford C. and Fern Cook Stull, she was born March 6, 1928 in Exline and was graduated from Molten High School.

She was married to Russell L. Southern June 29, 1946 and Molten.
