Carl Plummer, former Colfax Resident, Dies

COLFAX - Carl A. Plummer, 74, of Elyria, Ohio, a former resident of Colfax, died recently in Elyria.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Colfax Cemetery.

The Rev. Bob Jones, pastor of the Christian Church in Colfax, will conduct services.

Survivors are his wife, Edith; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Hansen of Tallahassee, Fla., two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Colene) Barber and Mrs. Earl (Nadine) Shields, both formerly of Newton; and a brother, George of California.

Mr. Plummer, a former athlete at Colfax Community High School, played baseball and football in college and on professional teams during the late 1920s.

The son of Charles and Abigail Plummer, he was born September 8, 1903 at Colfax.
