Riley Moore Services Held February 10
Riley W. Moore, 79, of Newton died of cancer Friday, Feb. 7, at Veterans Medical Center in Knoxville. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery.
Mr. Moore, a lifelong Newton resident, retired after 30 years as a machinist at Maytag Co. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the United Auto Workers Retirees Union.
Surviving are his wife, Billie; a son, Larry of Everman, Texas; two brothers, Galen of Ottumwa and Duane of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Doris Korras of Westville, Ind., Rozella Bale of Colfax and Gladys Griggs and Frances Simpson, both of Newton; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
