Amanda Kouws Emerson, daughter of George and Eliza Kouws, was born in Jefferson County, Ia. and died October 29, 1937, age 82 years.

Married Russell R. Emerson on Feb. 27, 1901.

Burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, south of Prairie City.
