Alexapder Erskin, son of John and Sarah Erskin was born at Hillsboro, Ohio October 10, 1838 and died at Prairie City May 19, 1925.

He was the youngest of three children.

He married Grace Bennett on April 5, 1860. Three children Ida L., Clara V. and Kate M. The only one living is Ida L. Ross. The other two daughters died several years ago.

His wife died in 1906.

The Erskin family came to Jasper Co. in 1864.

Burial in Westview Cemetery.
