John C. Oswalt was born near Clyde, Iowa (Jasper Co.) on January 9, 1859 and died February 14, 1925.

Married Sarah E. Ferguson on October 26, 1879.

Five children – Jesse Cowman of Percy, Iowa, Sylvia Miller of Norwalk, Claude Oswalt of Des Moines, Clara Martin of Runnells, Fred Oswalt of Swan.

Also leaves two brothers and five sisters.

Burial in Pleasant Hill.
