Alida Shearer Ross was born at Vandalia on March 20, 1860 and died in September, 1924 at Carthage, Missouri.

In 1875 the Shearer family moved to Carthage.

She married James S. Ross in 1880. Mr. Ross died about 13 years ago.

Four children Frank C. of Joplin, Herman and Glen of Carthage, James W. died October 26, 1921.

Alida is a sister of our postmaster Shearer.

She is also survived by her mother Mrs. M. E. Shearer of Prairie City and a brother Frank here and Harry T. Shearer of Dallas, Oregon.
