Elizabeth Madaline Hummel was born June 24, 1850 in Montgomery Co., Ohio and died March 6, 1924.

Came to Jasper Co., age 13 years to 2 1/2 miles northeast of Fairmount.

On June 21, l867 she married Wendelin Wagner of Percy. They lived near Percy for one year, then moved to the Wagner homestead west of Monroe.

He died April 8, 1911.

In 1914 she moved to Monroe. Six children - Benjamin C. and Cora Della died in the fall of 1886 and Lula May died in the spring of 1916.

Living are Mrs. Nancy Taylor and John W. Wagner, both of Monroe and Frank A. of Prairie City. Two brothers - Mike and John Hummel of Monroe.

Burial in Monroe Cemetery.
