John Brewin was born at Thornton, Leicestershire, England on November 19, 1842 and died at Wilton, Iowa on March 26, 1924.

Came here with parents at age 6 years.

Married Margaret A. Metheny at Newton on September 19, 1867.

Six children Harriott E. McCoy, Fruita, Colorado, Mrs. W. F. Fullbright of Kennewick, Washington, Henry and Fred G. of Wilton, Clyde H. of Rock Island, Illinois and John W., who died at Maryville, Missouri on February 28, 1919.

Burial at Waveland Cemetery.
