FATAL ACCIDENT - Myra Braley the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Wil Braley, who live south of Kellogg, accepted an invitation to visit with her little friend, Katie Newell, who lives about a mile away.

So last Friday the two little girls started to make the trip from Braley's to Newell's on the back of an old mule, which had been used for several years and thought to be entirely trust-worthy. Before reaching their destination, however, the mule became frightened and threw them off of its back. Little Katie was unhurt but Myra was injured in the spine so seriously that she died.

The shocking affair caused great sorrow through the community. The funeral, which was held at the Congregational Church at Kellogg Sunday, was very largely attended, showing the respect for the parents and love for the sweet, bright child, so suddenly cut off in her youth.
