Baxter News: Mrs. Rachel, wife of J. D. Richards, died at her home near Baxter, on the morning of Dec. 15, aged 49 years. Deceased was born in Fredricktown, Ohio, and had been a member of the Congregational Church since 1866. She was a woman highly respected by all who knew her. A husband two sons and six daughters mourn the loss of a good wife and mother. ~ The Newton (IA) Journal, Wednesday, Dec 27, 1893.
