DIED. – At her home in this city, Saturday morning, Nov. 11th, 1893, Mrs. Lucy M. Williams.

Mrs. Williams was born at Lacona, Warren county, Iowa, March 18th, 1856, where she spent the first twenty-five years of her life. On the first day of April, 1880, she was married to Mr. Al. Williams, and after a brief stay in Creston they came to Newton, where they have lived ever since.

Mrs. Williams was afflicted with scrofula and was therefore a sufferer all her life, and yet she bore it bravely and uncomplainingly. Her last illness was long and painful, but she remained hopeful to the last. In 1887 she united with the Presbyterian church, of which she remained a member till death.

The funeral service was conducted in the church on Monday afternoon, by the Pastor, Rev. D. Brown, and the large and sympathetic congregation in attendance told her standing in the community.

The bereaved husband, the two sisters and one brother, whom she leaves behind, have the sympathy of all who know them. ~ The Newton Journal, Wednesday, November 15, 1893.
