The many friends of Mr. J. W. Kennedy, of Colfax, will be pained to learn of his death, which took place on Sunday morning last, Sept. 3rd, 1893. Mr. K. was one of the foremost business men of Colfax, a citizen of unblemished character of high repute, and will be mourned by all who knew him. We learn he died of Brights' disease. His funeral will take place on Thursday, at 2 p.m. He was a member of Oriental Commandery No. 29, and members of the order will attend the funeral and will perhaps conduct the ceremonies. ~ The Newton Journal, Wednesday, September 6, 1893.
