After a Brief illness John McCracken died at his home two miles south of Colfax, Thursday, Aug. 24, 1893; aged 66 years 6 months and 3 days. Mr. McCracken was born in Licking county, Ohio. He came to Iowa in 1855 and located on the farm where he lived to the time of his death.
