COLONA, Ill. -- Grace Marie Rexroat, 77, of Colona, Ill., formerly of Newton, died Monday, May 22, 2006, at her son's home in Colona.

A funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Ken Van Loon, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton, officiating. Burial will be at Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home, where the family will be available. Memorials will be accepted in her name, Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton or Trinity Pathway Hospice in Colona.

The daughter of Ivan and Elizabeth (Mohler) Bell, she was born April 26, 1929, in Reasnor. On Nov. 6, 1946, she married Donald K. Rexroat in Troy, Kan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and baking. She was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Merwin and Kathy Rexroat of Colona and Carrol and Sharolyn Wheatcraft of Newton; a daughter, Marcia Palmer of Newton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Bell of Marshalltown; a sister, Alyce Heck of Pleasantville; a sister-in-law, Norma Jean Bell of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson; and a brother, Bob Bell.
