Mrs. Jennie Elrod Livingston, wife of W. O. Livingston died this morning at half past two at the farm home of the family three and a half miles north west of Monroe.

Mrs. Livingston had been in poor health for several years and for the past year or more has been afflicted with diabetes. Her husband did everything that money could do for her, had tried changes of climate. A year ago she was taken to a hospital but an examination convinced the surgeon that there was no operation which would do any good, and she has been gradually getting weaker and weaker until the end finally came.

The funeral will be held in the Monroe Baptist church Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.

Jennie Elrod was born in Washington County, Penn., June 21st, 1857, so that she was nearing her 58th milestone. Her parents were William and Mary C. Elrod. The family came to Monroe in 1868.

About thirty five years ago she was married to Mr. Livingston who with two sons and two daughters mourn the death of a loved wife and mother.

There were seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Livingston, four of whom survive, and all live near the home place, Clyde and Charles Livingston and Mrs. Albert Lust and Mrs. Katherine Lewis.

Mrs. C. E. Whitcomb of Newton is an only sister of Mrs. Livingston and was with her sister for the past week. There are two brothers John Elrod of Harlan and James Elrod of Monroe.
