Newton (IA) Daily News, year unknown
The entire town of Reasnor was saddened last Saturday morning about 11 o’clock when Cecil Wilson, fourteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bub Wilson was accidentally shot and killed by Carl Preston, the young son of Mrs. Minnie Preston. Death resulted instantly. The funeral was held this morning.
The two boys had just left home with their shot guns for a rabbit hunt. They were walking up Main street by the Frank Bean home – the Preston boy being a few feet in advance of young Wilson. Carl who had his shot gun over his shoulder stumbled in the snow and the gun was discharged—the discharge hitting young Wilson squarely in the forehead. He sank to the ground and was dead within a few minutes.
A father and mother and several brothers and sisters are grief stricken today because of the untimely death. They recently moved to Reasnor from Arkansas where they have been living for some time.
