Case Goodyk

PELLA -- Case Goodyk, 72, of Pella, a farmer in the Sully-Peoria area until moving to Pella in 1954, died Monday, Feb. 5, at Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

The Rev. J. Mark Beach, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

Memorials to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Esther; two sons, Darrell Lee of Pella and John Allen of Pella; a daughter, Carol (Mrs. Ed) Jansen of Pella; and 10 grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Peter of Sully and Jacob of Harvey; and four sisters, Charlotte (Mrs. Albert) Beyer of Jenison, Mich.; Adriana (Mrs. Gerrit J.) Roose of Pella, Joanne (Mrs. Joel) Spykernaar of Holland, Mich., and Louise (Mrs. Wilbur) Nikkel of Pella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wiebe and Henry, and a sister Tena (Mrs. Gerrit J.) Roose.

Mr. Goodyk, a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella, had worked at the Southend Phillips 66 station in Pella for more than 13 ½ years and at Rolscreen in Pella for almost 20 years.

The son of Johannes J. and Sadie Spoelstra Goodyk, he was born May 16, 1917 in Peoria and was educated in Peoria area schools. He was married to Esther Mae Sutton Feb. 19, 1947.
