BAXTER -- Iona Noah Deppe, 79, of Baxter died Sunday, May 6, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Baxter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethany United Church of Christ, east of Baxter.

The Rev. Bill Kanne, interim pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Survivors are a son, Donovan of Newton; three grandchildren, Mark, Brent and Trista Deppe, all of Newton; and a sister, Esther Noah of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by hew husband, Reuben, in 1986, parents and a sister.

Mrs. Deppe was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ, the Women’s Fellowship, the Ever-ready Club and Bethany United Church of Christ Bible Class and taught Sunday School for 25 years.

The daughter of Calvin and Charlotte Wintermeier Noah, she was born April 28, 1911 in rural Baxter, was educated in Baxter school, was graduated from Baxter Community High School in 1928 and attended Des Moines University and American Institute of Business, both of Des Moines.

She was married to Reuben Deppe Nov. 30, 1939 in Baxter.

Mrs. Deppe moved to a farm near Baxter after her marriage. She moved into Baxter in 1986 and to the Manor in 1988.
