Doris Vee Clements

Doris Vee Brown Clements, 47, of Rt. 1, Newton, a resident of Newton for 24 years, died of cancer Sunday morning, Nov. 25, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

The Rev. William Ortt, rector of the church, and the Rev. Frederick Kramer will conduct services.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, James M.; two sons, Charles L. of Newton and Roger D. B. of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

Also surviving are four brothers, Raymond A. Brown of Kellogg, Walter L. Brown of Vancouver, Wash.; Delmar W. Brown of Iowa City and Lyle Ml Brown of Grinnell; and a sister, Irene F. Brown of San Francisco, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Clements, manager of Clements Associates, Inc., and a school teacher in the Newton area for nine years, was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

The daughter of Leroy W. and Lois A. Hammer Brown, she was born Jan. 12, 1943 in Grinnell, was a 1961 graduate of Grinnell Community High School and 1970 graduate of Central College in Pella.

She was married to James M. Clements Nov. 24, 1962 in Ames.
