Caroline De Goey
NEWTON, IA -- Caroline De Goey, 84, of Newton died Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of complications following hip surgery. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Community Reformed Church in Newton, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Pella.
Mrs. De Goey was born in Pella and had lived in Newton since 1962. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Marvin of Pleasantville, Willus of New Sharon, Carl of Newton and Ryk of Lynnville; three daughters, Deretha Sneller of Pella, Thelma Boertje of Prairie City and Laura Jo VanDerHart of Newton; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today and the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newton Christian School.

Funeral services for Caroline Heukelom De Goey, 84, of Nelson Manor Care Center, a resident of Newton since 1962, were held this afternoon, Sept. 10, at the Community Reformed Church.
The Rev. Du Wayne Hanke, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Pella.
Visitation with the family was held Sunday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
Memorials to the Newton Christian School will be accepted.
She died Friday evening at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of complications following hip surgery.
Survivors are four sons, Marvin of Pleasantville, Willus of New Sharon, Carl of Newton and Ryk of Lynnville; three daughters, Deretha (Mrs. Henry) Sneller of Pella, Thelma (Mrs. Raymond) Boertje of Prairie City and Laura Jo (Mrs. Louis) Van Der Hart of Newton; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cornie, May 8, 1975, a son, Cornie Jr. Sept. 7, 1930, two grandsons, three brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. De Goey, a homemaker, was a member of the Community Reformed Church.
The daughter of Ryk and Trintje De Wild Van Heukelom, she was born Nov. 12, 1905 in Pella.
She was married to Cornie De Goey Aug. 19, 1924 in Pella.
Mrs. De Goey had resided her entire life in Jasper and Marion Counties.
