OBITUARY. - Clarence G., son of William G., and Emma Lyday, was born in Newton, April 13, 1874. He was baptized in infancy, and on Jan. 30, 1874, in company with a number of his young companions, united with the Lutheran Church of this city. For several years he has been away from home nearly all the time. He came to his death by accident at Malvern, April 21, 1893, aged 19 years, and 8 days. It was been well written:
"God moves in a mysterious way.
His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps upon the sea,
And rides upon the storm.Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never-failing skill,
He treasurers up His bright designs,
And works life sovereign will."The bereaved parents and friends have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. And we can only comment them to Him who is our refuge and strength in time of trouble. ~ The Newton Journal (Iowa), Wednesday, April 26, 1893.
