SEASIDE, Ore. -- Griselda Jacobs, 92, of Seaside, Ore., formerly of Prairie City, died Thursday June 8, 2006 at Necanium Village in Seaside.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

A visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

The daughter of Tony De Haas and Henricka J. (Toering) De Haas, she was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Orange City. On Sept. 30, 1939, she married Christian Marion Jacobs in Orange City. She was in the baking industry and served as an assistant for many years. She was a member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dick Edwards of Seaside, Ore., and, Evelyn and Duane Cole of Bend, Ore., Anna and Larry Welch of Prairie City; and a brother, Newman DeHaas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; a son, Jerry Jacobs; and three brothers and one sister. ~ The Newton Daily News, June 16, 2006
